Proud Pinko 

A Pinko is considered to be someone who is sympathetic to communism, but not necessarily a member of the Communist Party.

In Toronto, Canada the term 'Pinko' became synonymous with 'cyclist' or 'left wing press' after Hockey Commentator Don Cherry's contentious speech during Mayor Rob Ford's inauguration. In response to the insulting address, cyclists, councilors, and other groups around the city began sporting (pun intended) a variety of custom "proud pinko" paraphernalia and pink colored clothes.
