After trade opened back up between China and The United States, it was suggested that the loss of manufacturing jobs to third world countries would be compensated by increased opportunities for people in the service and technology industries. This, however, does not help the "less skilled" American workers whose strengths are in manufacturing and who relied on the manufacturing industry to support themselves and their families. So, the American corporations continue to grow and make money, while Americans look for jobs that don't exist and Chinese labour workers suffer in sweatshops. Read more in R.G.
