The Peace Sign, a combination of semaphore signals for "N" and "D", was originally designed in 1958 for the British nuclear disarmament movement. The V Sign is a hand gesture
in which the index and middle fingers are parted and the
remaining fingers are clenched. Though it has various meanings, depending on cultural context, it is most commonly used to
represent the letter V as in "victory" and is a symbol of peace.
